These two partners in crime were obsessed with fighting demons, but they were being misled by demons the whole time!!
Hello Readers, hope all’s well. Time for another #shorts post, and also another End Times post. Today I combine the two.
Today’s quick tidbit is a short update on a nefarious case I’ve written about before. I wrote about it a long time ago, all the way back in Part 2 and also Part 22. And that would be the case of Chad Daybell and Lori Vallow, who are accused and indited of killing their two children to save them from the Great Suffering at The End of the world (along with other possible motives). They also are accused of murdering others besides the children.
It’s been quite a while since I’ve written on these two; not every update on their situation is notable. But the latest news is noteworthy, and so I’m writing about it today.
Ever Heard of Deliverance?!?!
The story I’m using as my source is Man charged in kids’ deaths face potential death penalty by Rebecca Boone for ABC News. It was published on August 6, 2021 (you know I write these posts in advance). If you’re unfamiliar with the details of this case, I suggest you follow that link and read the article, because that will bring you up to speed on basically what’s going on.
I will not be explaining the facts of the case as we know them. If this interests you I ask you to Google more info on your own.
Anyway, the latest news is that prosecutors in Idaho will be seeking the death penalty against Chad Daybell. This hints at the severity of this gruesome crime, and how seriously the state wishes to prosecute it. It also hints at how far this supposedly Pious and God-fearing man has fallen.
Someone who truly fears the LORD should never find themselves in this situation of being on trial for murder. The world is opposed to the LORD, and so the world may arrest Christians and charge them with various things, but murder should never be one of those. Murder is not a contrived charge the people of the world make up out of nowhere. A charge of murder, first-degree murder, reflects that a major atrocity took place. Murder is one of the things the LORD hates most.
The ABC News article offers a glimpse, a hint at their un-Biblical, un-Scriptural beliefs about demons. Take a look:
In the Idaho indictments, prosecutors said the Daybells promoted their apocalyptical religious beliefs in order to justify the killings.
A friend of Lori Daybell told investigators that the pair believed people could be taken over by dark spirits that turned them into “zombies” and that the only way to free that person’s soul was by killing them. Chad Daybell also ran a publishing company and wrote books that were focused on the biblical “end times” and loosely based on the theology of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Zoom in on that second paragraph, especially the bolded parts. These Mormons were completely wrong in their understanding of Spiritual warfare, demons, and how it all works. “Only killing people can free them from demons??” WHAT?!?! A Quick Refresher
Let’s take this opportunity to review three fundamental truths of Spiritual warfare, so that we don’t make the same mistakes these two did. I’ll let Scripture speak for itself without any additional commentary.
First is Ephesians 6:12. We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, which means our enemies are not human and not physical; they are Spiritual. Demon spirits. Not people.
(12) We aren’t fighting against human enemies but against rulers, authorities, forces of cosmic darkness, and spiritual powers of evil in the heavens.

Next, 2 Corinthians 10:3-5. How do we fight these demon spirits, our true enemies?? Do we use guns and knives and other physical weapons like that?? Absolutely not. We don’t fight this Spiritual battle with physical weapons; our weapons are Spiritual weapons, prayers empowered by Jesus Himself. That is the one and only way we take on these invisible foes … so put down all your guns because they won’t do any good!! You can’t shoot a demon!!
(3) Although we live in the world, we don’t fight our battles with human methods. (4) Our weapons that we fight with aren’t human, but instead they are powered by God for the destruction of fortresses. They destroy arguments, (5) and every defense that is raised up to oppose the knowledge of God. They capture every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Finally, this item isn’t always mentioned, but it’s extremely important for Spiritual warfare. And it’s very relevant to the Chad Daybell and Lori Vallow situation. This is where they messed up. Chad was following the guidance of some spirit for most of his life, some kind of spiritual entity that was guiding him and telling him of events that would happen in the future and so on and so forth. But we need to test every spirit, because not every spirit that comes to us comes from the LORD. We need to test every spirit and use our Spiritual discernment, holding everything that spirit says up to the scrutiny of Scripture, to make sure we aren’t being deceived by a demonic spirit.
(1) Dear friends, don’t believe every spirit. Test the spirits to see if they are from God because many false prophets have gone into the world.

Never forget that Satan himself can transform into an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). Demonic spirits are always trying to deceive us, and they’ll take any disguise that is useful for this purpose.
Look at the horrific sins Chad and Lori have fallen into. Do you think they were following the guidance of an angelic spirit from the LORD?? Of course not; they were listening to and being deceived by a demon. Which is why we must test every spirit.
Chad Daybell and Lori Vallow were not following the voice of the LORD as they thought; they were being deceived by the devil and following Satan in their heinous atrocities.
It’s unfortunate that Chad is facing the death penalty. I don’t support the death penalty in any case; I say it violates Romans 12:19. I’m not happy or pleased the state could put him to death for what he did.
What I want is for Christians to learn from this case. There’s no need to be obsessed and fearful of the End Times. The Bible tells us everything we need to know about how to survive the End Times and what to do, which is the same as what we’re supposed to be doing at all times anyways. The Bible tells us everything we need to know about how to act now. And the Bible gives us a message of True Hope in Jesus Christ for enduring through the End Times and making it to our true, eternal life with the LORD.
So when we deviate from Biblical truths and go off on our own or follow the guidance of some spirit, we can expect to get into sin. And in some cases, like this one, it may end in atrocity.
