Happy Easter!!
Hello Readers, hope all’s well.
I’d like to wish you all a very Happy Easter to you and your families. I hope you have a blessed and happy day celebrating the resurrection of our LORD, Jesus Christ.
And the resurrection of Jesus is the best news of the entire Christian message. Our LORD and Savior and Love, Jesus Christ, overcame death. Death holds no power over Him, and if we put our Faith in Him, death will hold no power over us either. Jesus offers us eternal life, our true life. A life of eternal rest in Heaven at His side. And Easter is when we celebrate His victory over death, which thanks to Him is now our victory too. This is the ultimate promise of Christianity, one well worth celebrating.
All four Gospels proclaim Jesus’ resurrection. Here’s the account from Matthew 28.
(1) After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the tomb. (2) Look, there was a great earthquake, for an angel from the Lord came down from heaven. Coming to the stone, he rolled it away and sat on it. (3) Now his face was like lightning and his clothes as white as snow. (4) The guards were so terrified of him that they shook with fear and became like dead men. (5) But the angel said to the women, “Don’t be afraid. I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. (6) He isn’t here, because he’s been raised from the dead, just as he said. Come, see the place where they laid him. (7) Now hurry, go and tell his disciples, ‘He’s been raised from the dead. He’s going on ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there.’ I’ve given the message to you.” (8) With great fear and excitement, they hurried away from the tomb and ran to tell his disciples. (9) But Jesus met them and greeted them. They came and grabbed his feet and worshipped him. (10) Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Go and tell my brothers that I am going into Galilee. They will see me there.”
Matthew 28:1-10; 16-20 (CEB)
[…]
(16) Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus told them to go. (17) When they saw him, they worshipped him, but some doubted. (18) Jesus came near and spoke to them, “I’ve received all authority in heaven and on earth. (19) Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (20) teaching them to obey everything that I’ve commanded you. Look, I myself will be with you every day until the end of this present age.”
Jesus was victorious over death. One of His final messages to us recorded in the Bible is the Great Commission. That would be Matthew 28:19—we must evangelize. We must go and tell everyone of Jesus’ victory over death and resurrection into eternal life. Why? So that they too can put their Faith in Jesus and also have eternal life.
During these painful End Times we’re living through, this evangelizing is more needed than ever. Many people out there are losing all Hope because of the terrible things going on in the world around them. But no one who believes in Jesus needs to be afraid. This world is coming to a horrible end, but this world and our life in it are only temporary anyway.
Our true life is our eternal life, and it begins when we physically die here on earth and go to unite with Jesus in Heaven. So nothing that happens to us down here—even a painful death during the End Times—will matter in the end for us. Once we die here, all our problems are over. We will have eternal rest and peace, and anything that happened or that we lacked will never matter again. There will only be joy.
As Paul said in Romans 8:
(18) I believe that the present suffering is nothing compared to the coming glory that is going to be revealed to us.
Romans 8:18 (CEB)
And that is the promise we can Hope in. The promise of Christianity—eternal life in Heaven with Jesus. Our LORD and Savior and Love conquered death, and if we keep our Faith in Him and follow His teachings, we will too. True, eternal glory awaits us.
Now that’s something worth celebrating!! So I hope you and your families all have a nice celebration and enjoy the day.
