All things are possible … for the one who has Faith. Our Faith that nothing is impossible for God is what makes all things possible.
Hello Readers, hope all’s well. Time for another End Times post.
Today’s post is a little shorter than usual. But that’s OK, because a short post isn’t a bad thing. It’s a change of pace.
Today’s post is inspired by the message I heard in church the day I wrote this. And it’s a very simple, but powerful message. One that’s so meaningful, but that we tend to forget. And that message is ….
All things are possible for the one who has Faith.
That’s the message we need as these painful End Times continue on. We’ve got to believe in that now, or we’re doomed.
God All-Powerful
The message our guest pastor gave today came from Mark 9, verse 23. This is the scene in Mark where a father asks Jesus to heal his demon-possessed son. The father asks, “if you can do anything, help!” And Jesus replies, “‘If you can do anything’? All things are possible for the one who has faith.”
(21) Jesus asked his father, “How long has this been going on?”
Mark 9:21-24 (CEB)
He said, “Since he was a child. (22) It has often thrown him into a fire or into water trying to kill him. If you can do anything, help us! Show us compassion!”
(23) Jesus said to him, “‘If you can do anything’? All things are possible for the one who has faith.”
(24) At that the boy’s father cried out, “I have faith; help my lack of faith!”
All things are possible. It’s only four words, but such a powerful message. And so meaningful for us as Christians. All. Things. Are. Possible! (For the one who has Faith). Our God is all-powerful, He can do anything—anything. To put it the opposite way, there’s nothing He can’t do.
That’s the reverse of Mark 9:23, but still says the same thing. “Nothing is impossible for God.” We can find that exact statement in Luke 1:37. This is when the angel Gabriel came to Mary and told her she would conceive and give birth to the Savior. He mentions Mary’s relative Elizabeth, who was thought to be unable to conceive, but got pregnant. Gabriel used Elizabeth’s example to show Mary, “Nothing is impossible for God.”
(36) Look, even in her old age, your relative Elizabeth has conceived a son. This woman who was labeled ‘unable to conceive’ is now six months pregnant. (37) Nothing is impossible for God.”
Luke 1:36-37 (CEB)
All things are possible for the one who has Faith (in God). Nothing is impossible for God. These statements, which come from God Himself as they appear in His inspired Word, are so meaningful.
As Christians we should have them in mind more often, because if we did we’d have an easier time when times get hard. God can do anything; He can conquer any of our troubles, nothing is too big for Him. And He loves us and He is with us always. If we always remembered that, we would never fear or give in to dismay. So why do we tend to forget this crucial and comforting teaching when times get hard?
Well, I suppose it’s because we’re only human.
God Is with Us, God Is Greater
The only senses we have to perceive the world are our five human senses, so when we’re going through a crisis, all we can see are the worldly difficulties in front of us. These things seem so real, threatening, and impossible to defeat. So dire. They threaten us and our very existence. They overwhelm us and we focus on them and nothing else. We lose sight of God because we’re focused on these dangers.
But our God is with us (Matthew 28:20), and our God is greater than all these things.
Jesus is greater than any problem we could ever face. Health problems. Financial troubles and job losses. Physical violence (or threats of it). Anything we could ever suffer, Jesus is greater and more powerful than that problem. And if we have Faith in Him, He is always with us.
(20) teaching them to obey everything that I’ve commanded you. Look, I myself will be with you every day until the end of this present age.”
Matthew 28:20
There is no crisis Jesus can’t guide us through. No situation where He can’t comfort us. There’s nothing He can’t help us with. His comfort and aid are always available to us, if we believe in Him and we ask for it.
Jesus can calm any storm in our lives, like He calmed the literal storm in Matthew 8 when He and the Disciples crossed the lake in a boat. But if we want Jesus to calm a storm in our lives, we have to ask Him to do so. Before Jesus would calm the storm for His Disciples, they had to wake Him up.
(24) A huge storm arose on the lake so that waves were sloshing over the boat. But Jesus was asleep. (25) They came and woke him, saying, “Lord, rescue us! We’re going to drown!”
(26) He said to them, “Why are you afraid, you people of weak faith?” Then he got up and gave orders to the winds and the lake, and there was a great calm.
(27) The people were amazed and said, “What kind of person is this? Even the winds and the lake obey him!”
Jesus is always with us. He’s there in the boat, taking a nap. He can calm any storm in our lives, literal or figurative. But if that’s what we want, we have to wake Him up like the Disciples did. We have to tell Him what’s wrong, that we need help, and that we believe He can help us. We do this through prayer.
Prayer is how we talk to God, and ask for His help. We have to pray at all times (Ephesians 6:18), every situation. We won’t have a relationship with Jesus and God if we don’t pray. And prayer is also an act of Faith. No one prays to anything or anyone they don’t believe in; if we pray to something, we believe in it and believe it can help us. We must have Faith, and pray in Faith.
Remember Mark 9:23? Who did Jesus say all things are possible for? He said: All things are possible for the one who has Faith.
Faith is the key. Faith is why we pray, and Faith is what enables us to conquer any life obstacle through Jesus’ help and power. All things are possible to us through Christ Jesus, but only if we have Faith. Just believe!
Just believe. That’s more important than ever during these painful End Times.
Just Believe
These End Times are treacherous, perilous Times. There are obstacles, crises, dangers, and storms everywhere. These threats are so unprecedented, they can easily intimidate us and make us fear and despair. We can get fooled by them, and believe that nothing can save us from these dangers. In other words, we can lose our Faith temporarily.
If we lose Faith now, in the End Times, we’ll get destroyed by the dangers of the End times. And that’s unnecessary, because Jesus told us that He is with us always, and no power of the enemy will harm us (Luke 10:19). Even the gates of hell won’t prevail against Jesus’ true church during the End Times! (Matthew 16:18) Have Faith! Jesus is greater than any crisis or danger!!
(18) And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Matthew 16:18 (ESV 2016)
Even the gates of hell will not prevail. Jesus is greater than anything we could ever face. And that includes Spiritual threats. It’s easy to get scared during these End Times. The Times are tense and dangerous. But let’s remember the teachings of Jesus in the Gospels, and take heart. There’s nothing to fear. Any danger we face, Jesus can deal with it. He can calm any storm. All things are possible for the one who has Faith.
So take strength in Jesus during these hard Times. Turn to Him, ask Him for help, take strength in Him, and have Faith. Because Faith is what it’s going to take to survive these Times. Faith is the key to everything we need to do now. Faith is our conviction that Jesus is in the same boat with us, and Faith is why we pray to Him to wake up and calm the storm. Faith is our belief that God is greater than any problem we face and that He can help us. Faith is what makes all things possible.
All things are possible … for the one who has Faith. Our Faith that nothing is impossible for God is what makes all things possible.
So don’t despair, and Do Not Fear the End Times. God is greater than any danger we can face, and nothing is impossible for Him. There’s no enemy He can’t defeat. Remember that, turn to Jesus for courage, and have Faith. Just believe. That’s the only way we’ll survive what’s coming.
