Prayer is how we get through hard times. Prayer is how we get strength from the LORD. Prayer is how we fight back against demonic attacks, and drive out demons. If we want to have peace, we need to pray.
Hello Readers, hope all’s well. Happy New Year! I wish you and your families all the best and pray you’ll have a blessed year this year.
Last year was painful and filled with tragedy and suffering for so many. What does this year hold—will it be better? Let’s pray that it will, but only God knows.
I don’t wish to bring the mood down on New Year’s Day, but when I think about what this year might have in store, I think about a dream I had which I wrote about way back in Part 5. In that dream I saw images implying war and possibly some sort of racial terrorism done by nazis.
The full details of this dream are in Part 5. For today, I’ll only share the parts about the war and the nazis:
[…] And now I suddenly have a book in my hands.
I open the book, and on the page of the book I see live video imagery, like news footage. I see row upon row of green army tanks. They’re assembled in formation and on the move—they’re headed to war. A white fighter jet is resting on the front of each tank and being carried that way. One jet per tank. It’s a massive array of military firepower, countless green tanks and white fighter jets on the move.
I turn the page in the book and don’t see any imagery this time, but I see a headline instead: YQN Nazis Go Unpunished.
As long as this dream came from the Holy Spirit rather than the enemy, these events could take place any time from now until the end of 2022 (I can give that date because of other details from the dream). So when I think about what this year has in store, I wonder if these events from the dream will happen soon. Of course I don’t know when they’ll happen, but I just have the feeling they could happen. That’s all.
*** I must point out that if these events never happen before the end of 2022, then that dream I had came from the enemy, and not God’s Holy Spirit. If the events never happen, then I was deceived by the enemy. See Deuteronomy 18:21-22. ***
Now, why talk about this? Why start the year off with such negativity?
As I said, it’s not my desire to bring everyone’s mood down on the first day of the year. Today I’d like to do the opposite, if I can. Today I want to talk about the tool for getting through this coming year (or any year), no matter what it holds.
Only God knows what 2021 will bring, but everyone Hopes this year will be better than the painful one we just finished. Whether it’s good or bad, we know we can get through it all with Jesus. And we also know that we have a way to get help, comfort, and strength from above: Prayer. Yes, prayer is what it’s going to take to get through this year (and every year), good or bad. Prayer is our strength and our comfort. Prayer is our lifeline to God. We need to pray constantly in these End Times.
And that’s not all. Satan’s demons are incredibly active now, as the End draws closer. Prayer is our weapon against them. Our prayers, empowered by God, are our only means of fighting off these Spiritual enemies. Prayer is how we fight demons, including the demons tormenting others.
As Christians in the End Times, it’s more important than ever that we pray as much as we can. Now, prayer is a massive topic I could write about forever. Entire books have been written about it. But I’ll stay focused on these two parts of it: As a weapon against demons, and as something we must do always, without ceasing.
A Defense and an Offense
Satan is raging harder every day as we get closer to the End, the Day of our LORD’s return. Satan’s demons are working overtime, tormenting believers, harassing them, and trying to tempt them into sin.
There’s so much Spiritual activity going on, even non-believers are waking up to the fact that we live in a Spiritual world, filled with Spiritual entities. Even non-believers are starting to understand the Spiritual world is more real than the physical, visible world! In other words, there are non-believers becoming believers now.
If we ever meet such people, it’s very important to guide them to Christ and away from the demonic traps of New Age and so on. People waking up to the Spiritual reality of the world we live in need to understand that Christ is the only safety we have in the Spiritual world. Everything else is demonic.
But anyway, back to the point. Satan is raging harder than ever; he’s on the attack. Remember what I said in my previous post, Part 66! This is a war we’re in, a Spiritual war! And this war is reaching its climax. So things could get tougher before they get better. What can we do about this? Are we defenseless against the devil’s attacks?
Absolutely not!
As Christians, we have the full Armor of God and prayer at our disposal! Not only can we endure and resist the Spiritual attacks of the devil, we can fight back!
The full Armor of God is a topic that deserves its own post. It’s a topic for another time. But it’s described in Ephesians 6:10-17.
(10) Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and his powerful strength. (11) Put on God’s armor so that you can make a stand against the tricks of the devil. (12) We aren’t fighting against human enemies but against rulers, authorities, forces of cosmic darkness, and spiritual powers of evil in the heavens. (13) Therefore, pick up the full armor of God so that you can stand your ground on the evil day and after you have done everything possible to still stand. (14) So stand with the belt of truth around your waist, justice as your breastplate, (15) and put shoes on your feet so that you are ready to spread the good news of peace. (16) Above all, carry the shield of faith so that you can extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one. (17) Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is God’s word.
Ephesians 6:10-18 (CEB)
(18) Offer prayers and petitions in the Spirit all the time. Stay alert by hanging in there and praying for all believers.

I want to stick to the topic of prayer. Paul says many crucial things in Ephesians 6. He explains how we fight our Spiritual warfare. First, we aren’t fighting any human enemies, only Spiritual ones. Next, we get strengthened by the LORD and His power—we don’t fight by our own power! Once we put on the full Armor of God, we’re ready to fight using God’s power. And how does that work? Through prayer and Scripture.
Scripture is the sword of the spirit, as Verse 17 tells us. In Part 15 I described my first encounter with a demon, and how I used Scripture to drive it away. God’s Word is a weapon when used against demons. It’s one that the demons have no defense against. They hate hearing Scripture, and the holiness of God’s Word will drive them away.
This is another tenet of Spiritual warfare. Our prayers are weapons, empowered by God. We don’t use any other weapon, especially not human ones. Guns or knives are useless against demons; they have no physical body to attack. Human weapons only work on human enemies, and that isn’t who we’re fighting (Ephesians 6:12).
This is explained in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5.
(4) Our weapons that we fight with aren’t human, but instead they are powered by God for the destruction of fortresses. They destroy arguments, (5) and every defense that is raised up to oppose the knowledge of God. They capture every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (CEB)
Make sure you understand this well. Prayers, empowered by God, are our weapons. Prayers are the only weapons that work against our true enemies, the demons. Demons are Spiritual enemies and we must attack them with the Spiritual weapons God gave us.
So even though the devil is on the attack as the End Times keep going, we have a means to resist and a means to fight back. The full Armor of God is how we resist the attacks. Prayer is how we fight back.
When we stand in our authority as blood-bought Christian believers and use our prayer weapons, the demons must flee from us. They can’t stand against the power of God coming through our prayers!
So this is one thing we must all know about prayer in the End Times—it’s how we fight. We need to spend lots of time in prayer, because many demons are out there harassing all the believers. On that note, let’s talk more about when and what to pray.
What Does Scripture Say?
When should we pray? The answer is: All the time!
The Bible says this so many times, I can’t hope to cite every passage here in this post. The Bible has a huge number of verses about prayer—it’s one of the most frequent topics. I’ll pick out only a few verses that give some insight on prayer.
First, Paul tells us in Ephesians 6, the chapter where he explains Spiritual warfare, to pray all the time. He also tells us to pray for all believers.
(18) Offer prayers and petitions in the Spirit all the time. Stay alert by hanging in there and praying for all believers.
Ephesians 6:18 (CEB)
It’s fine to say prayers for ourselves and what we want, but we must remember to pray for others too. We must pray for our family, friends, neighbors, enemies, and those who persecute us. We must pray for Christians around the world, and non-Christians too (that they may realize the truth).
Intercessory prayer (praying on another person’s behalf) is an important part of our prayer life. We shouldn’t “keep our prayers to ourselves.” If we have love for others, let’s pray for them too. And that includes our enemies and those who persecute us.
If we’re being persecuted by someone, we must pray for them to realize what they’re doing and stop. We must pray against the demons of the people persecuting us, because those are the real enemies, and the root cause of a person’s evil actions (though everyone is always responsible for what they do). If we want our enemies to change, and stop their wickedness, we must stand in our authority as Christians and pray against these people’s demons. That will have a great effect if we keep it up. Out of love for them, we should desire to see them free from all demons, like Christ desires.
Moving on, 1 Thessalonians 5 also tells us to pray all the time. And it tells us to rejoice in the LORD and give thanks in good times and bad.
(16) Rejoice always. (17) Pray continually. (18) Give thanks in every situation because this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (CEB)
What we pray about is also important. All our prayers can’t be about asking for things we want. We also have to offer prayers of praise and thanksgiving. Every day we must say a prayer of thanks for another day of life, and for all our blessings. We should write down our blessings and give thanks for each one. It’s God’s Will that we should be happy and pleased with all He’s done for us. It’s especially important to thank God in prayer after He’s answered one of our prayers. As long as we rejoice in the LORD always, and all our prayers aren’t about asking for things, then we’re doing good.
Next, Philippians 4:6 says to bring all our requests to God in Faithful prayer, along with giving thanks.
(6) Don’t be anxious about anything; rather, bring up all of your requests to God in your prayers and petitions, along with giving thanks.
Philippians 4:6 (CEB)
The very act of prayer shows Faith in God. If we pray to something, anything, then we show we have Faith in it. We would never pray to something if we didn’t believe it could help us or do something for us, right? When was the last time you saw somebody praying to a potato, for example? So if we’re going to pray to God, we need to put our Faith into those prayers. We need to believe in God, His Word, and His promises.
There’s nothing God can’t do for us. God can do anything! God is greater than all our problems, greater than any crisis! Believe in Him as the all-powerful God, and ask Him for anything knowing that He can do it!
This is key. We need to believe God can do anything. That nothing is impossible for Him. If we don’t believe that, we don’t have the Faith He wants to see from us. If we aren’t praying in Faith, we shouldn’t expect to get anything from our prayer. James 1:6-8 tells us this. Our prayers must have our full Faith and genuine belief behind them, or they don’t work.
(6) Whoever asks shouldn’t hesitate. They should ask in faith, without doubting. Whoever doubts is like the surf of the sea, tossed and turned by the wind. (7) People like that should never imagine that they will receive anything from the Lord. (8) They are double-minded, unstable in all their ways.
James 1:6-8 (CEB)
And to bring it back to the End Times, Revelation 5 shows us that the prayers of every believer reach God on His throne. They appear as the incense in the golden bowls. God is listening to our prayers! So keep praying, and never give up in prayer.
(8) When he took the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each held a harp and gold bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
Revelation 5:8 (CEB)
Constant prayer is what it’s going to take to get through these End Times. As the days get harder, and the demons rage more violently, we need to respond by praying harder too. God hears us, we’re not alone down here. And we need His help if we’re going to endure till the End.
Make it a Year of Prayer!
I said only God knows what 2021 holds. Let’s pray it’s better than 2020. But even if it’s worse, no Christian should be disturbed, because we know our salvation is close. We know it’s closer than ever before.
Every day we get closer to either our death, or the Second Coming of Christ. Neither one is something for a Saved Christian to fear. Both end with us going to reunite with Christ, and enjoying our eternal life with Him.
But until that happens, we still have to live here on earth, dealing with the suffering allotted to us and demonic attacks too. The answer to all these things is prayer.
Prayer is how we get through hard times. Prayer is how we get strength from the LORD. Prayer is how we fight back against demonic attacks, and drive out demons. If we want to have peace, we need to pray.
Pray all the time, pray without ceasing. Jesus spent entire nights in prayer—He was a model of the prayer ideal we should aim for. It’s tough to spend an entire night in prayer, but we should follow His example as best we can. We need the LORD’s help and strength to survive these dangerous times, and stay out of deceptions.
Prayer is what drives away demons and stops their attacks. As time goes on, more and more people will experience these attacks. Maybe even you, Readers. If that ever happens, you know what to do: Pray, and use Scripture (the sword of the spirit) against them. Our prayers are weapons, empowered by God. The demons have no defense against them and must flee.
Prayer is a huge topic, I could go on writing about it forever. Entire books have been written on the topic. I’ll leave off saying that in the End Times, prayer is more important for us than ever before. Satan is on the attack. Demons are everywhere. And world events could be crazy and chaotic this year too, like they were in 2020. We need to be praying hard every day this year, for relief from these trials and for the sake of all believers around the world.
These End Times are hard and painful. If we’re going to get through them, we need help. So thank the LORD!! We have help available to us, and we can have it at anytime. All we need to do is pray. Prayer is our defense and our offense. Our comfort and our weapon.
Prayer is the key. If we don’t pray in 2021, if we don’t pray during these End Times, then we don’t have God with us. And if we don’t have God with us, we aren’t going to make it to the End.
