A New Ager who practices the Law of Attraction Is everything the demons could want! Materialistic, and focused on the world and the things in it? Check. Practicing magic by imposing their will on reality? Check. Veritably worshiping vague ‘Forces’ while denying God and seeing no need for Him? Check.

Previous End Times Post

Hello Readers, hope all’s well. Time for another End Times post. Today’s post is another post about witchcraft and New Age, and the topic is the Materialistic Magician, a sort of person the devil would love to develop us into.

I got the idea from a book I’m reading right now. If you follow this blog you know how I love to read, and I’m reading a great book right now. So let’s get right into it.

The Screwtape Letters

I’m currently reading The Screwtape Letters (AFFILIATE LINK) by C.S. Lewis. I read another of his books, Mere Christianity (AFFILIATE LINK), earlier this year. I try to diversify the authors I read, so I wasn’t planning to read another Lewis book again so soon. But I needed to read Screwtape right now. And why is that?

I’m currently under heavy spiritual assault. I’m having many witchcraft dreams, and am being targeted by heavy witchcraft and demonic attacks. I hope you will please pray for me, Readers, as I turn to Jesus for aid. As I follow the procedures I outlined in Witchcraft Defense 101. Right now I’m battling to clean up a repetitive sin from my mind and my life. I’m confident that Jesus is actively helping me in my battle, because I’m gaining so much wisdom and insight into my situation from The Screwtape Letters.

Although The Screwtape Letters is a fictional book, it’s filled with legit info on demonology and spiritual warfare. It lays out the details of how Satan, through his demons, tempts us into sin and leads us away from God, which ends with hell. But the interesting thing about this book is that it’s written from a fictional demon’s perspective! Yes, the letters in this book were written by a “senior demon” named ‘Screwtape.’ Screwtape writes letters to a junior demon named ‘Wormwood,’ explaining to him the best ways to tempt Wormwood’s “patient,” an innocent man who Wormwood is assigned to lead into damnation.

Many Christian topics come up in this book, some of which Lewis also writes about in Mere Christianity. But everything in The Screwtape Letters is from the perspective of a fictional demon, as I said. It’s an excellent, clever book offering a glimpse into how the demons tempt us and lead us astray. It’s a great read and I recommend you check it out.

Now just because it’s a good book doesn’t make it relevant to the End Times by default. So why do I bring it up today?

Universe Worship??

I’ve written about New Age a few times on my blog, as well as witchcraft. I’ve explained that witchcraft works by Satan’s power, but I don’t know that I’ve gone into as much depth about New Age. The most I’ve written about the New Age was in my book review of The Second Coming of the New Age, which you can check out here.

New Age is a conglomeration of diverse beliefs, with a few things in common. First, all are demonic deceptions inspired by Satan. And second, it’s very common that “The Universe” is a central concept. “The Universe” (which is actually the Leviathan spirit, AKA Tiamat/Bahamut, but I’ll discuss that another day) is thought to be a sentient “force” at the center of reality, one which runs reality. It’s also called “Source” sometimes.

Many New Agers believe they can interact with “The Universe/Source,” that they can learn to align with its will … or make it align with theirs. They believe that by thinking certain thoughts and verbalizing affirmations, by “sending these intentions out into The Universe,” they can bend reality to their will and create their own reality, one they would like. This means they can have whatever they want, here on earth. I wrote about the narcissism inherent in this logic in an older post you can check out, “The Law of Narcissism.”

Well the truth is that we do create our own reality, but not at all in the sense of what the New Agers are saying. “The Universe” (the Leviathan spirit) has nothing to do with it! We create our future reality every single day, with the choices we make in the present. If we exercise today, and make it a habit, we can enjoy good physical health for many years. This is a treasure that money can’t buy. If we save our money today, and use it wisely now, we will have savings in the future when we need it the most. And so on and so forth. The consequences, both good and bad, of the choices we make today create our future reality.

ANYWAY, back to the topic.

What you need to keep in mind is that many New Agers believe in an omnipresent, omniscient, neutral, all-powerful force known as “The Universe” that both runs and is reality. I’m going to revisit this point below, but remember it as we look at a quote from The Screwtape Letters.

A Demonic Masterpiece

I thought about all this when I read pages 31 and 32 of The Screwtape Letters. The whole quote is long, so I broke it up into two parts. Some context here is that the demon Screwtape is explaining to the junior demon why they remain invisible to humans. Who Screwtape refers to as “The Enemy” is actually the LORD God.

Oh, and it also uses U.K. spelling because it was written by C.S. Lewis.

Our policy, for the moment, is to conceal ourselves. […] When the humans disbelieve in our existence we lose all the pleasing results of direct terrorism and we make no magicians. On the other hand, when they believe in us, we cannot make them materialists and sceptics. At least, not yet. I have great hopes that we shall learn in due time how to emotionalise and mythologise their science to such an extent that what is, in effect, a belief in us (though not under that name) will creep in while the human mind remains closed to belief in the Enemy [God]. The ‘Life Force,’ the worship of sex, and some aspects of Psychoanalysis, may here prove useful.

C.S. Lewis, The Screwtape Letters, Page 31

OK, I know that’s a long quote. Let’s take it piece by piece.

We live in a very secular age. Many people don’t have any spirituality or religious beliefs at all. This suits the demons nicely, because when people don’t believe in anything beyond this world, they won’t look for anything beyond this world. They won’t think about God, they won’t ever try to seek the LORD. They’ll only focus on this world and the things they can enjoy here. This is great for demons, of course. Godless people will never even try to live as Christians.

But the fictional demon Screwtape does see some disadvantages to secularism. The demons lose the “pleasing results of direct terrorism,” whatever they gain by frightening victims in person. They also “make no magicians” because the people don’t believe in magic. And they do want to make magicians, because magic is forbidden by the LORD in Deuteronomy 18. Using magic brings people closer to Satan, further into his power.

Moving on, when people do believe in demons, the demons can’t make people skeptics—modern day Sadducees. They can’t make people materialists, but I don’t get why. I guess because if people believe in demons, then they believe in the spiritual and know better than to be materialistic? Or have no reason to be? I’m not sure. But let’s move on.

One day, the demons want to mythologize our human science so much that we begin to worship it, worship our own knowledge and abilities. This is pride of course, the deadliest sin. But in the increasingly secular world, science is becoming (or has already become) the new God. And now, as the quote says, human minds are closed off to God. People don’t feel they need God when they have their precious science. People are far too prideful now, worshiping themselves, their knowledge, and their abilities, which all came from God. This sin of pride creates an entryway to a soul that demons are eager to exploit.

This has already happened to most of the people of this era. No one is a lost cause, and none of this damage is irreversible because the LORD’s power is greater than any trick of the demons. But a person has to want to turn to Christ before Jesus will save them. As long as they see no need for Jesus, they will continue on in their sinful demonic deceptions. They will continue walking blindly to the edge of a cliff, finally falling off to their damnation.

The final line reveals some things the demons might find helpful in deceiving people in this way: “The ‘Life Force,’ the worship of sex, and some aspects of Psychoanalysis.” Sex is revered, worshiped, and shoved in our faces everyday in our hedonistic and sexual world. As for The ‘Life Force,’ one thing that would qualify is ‘The Universe’ the New Agers believe in that I mentioned before.

But what is all this heading toward? So the demons try to deceive us into disbelieving in God, but believing in other things. Is there any goal to that, besides our eternal damnation? We find out when we move on to the next quote:

If once we can produce our perfect work—the Materialist Magician, the man, not using, but veritably worshipping, what he vaguely calls ‘Forces’ while denying the existence of ‘spirits’—then the end of the war will be in sight.

C.S. Lewis, The Screwtape Letters, Pages 31-32

And here’s the part that really jumped out and hit me. This person, the demon’s perfect work … they’ve produced him. He’s here already! This person, it’s anyone who believes in and practices the Law of Attraction. Anyone who denies God but speaks their affirmations to ‘The Universe.’ Allow me to explain my thinking.

I explained in The Law of Narcissism post how materialistic the Law of Attraction (LOA) is. And LOA is also magic—it’s interacting with a satanic power to make changes in reality. The Bible sets up a duality that exists in the spiritual realm. You’re either interacting with God, or with demons. Those are your two choices. LOA doesn’t interact with or even acknowledge God, so it’s an interaction with demons. The Leviathan spirit in this case. Bending reality to your will, what else can we call that besides magic, the abomination unto the LORD forbidden in Deuteronomy 18?

‘The Universe’ is vaguely defined in New Age. It’s not a God, but a sentient Force, an energy, a consciousness, things like that. It fits the description of the quote. New Agers who interact with it veritably worship it. They ‘pray’ to it when they speak their affirmations to it. They’re always mindful of it. They interact with it as something more powerful than them. They believe it has the capability to help them, or that it can bend to their will in a way they want. They believe it’s omnipresent, it’s all around us, and so on. They veritably worship it.

And all this denies spirits, of course. It denies God’s Holy Spirit, it denies God (since God doesn’t fit anywhere into this talk of ‘The Universe’), and it denies demons too, because those are spirits.

A New Ager who practices LOA Is everything the demons could want! Materialistic, and focused on the world and the things in it? Check. Practicing magic by imposing their will on reality? Check. Veritably worshiping vague ‘Forces’ while denying God and seeing no need for Him? Check.

So you know what that means then, right? Check out the last line. The end of the war is in sight.

It’s almost time now, which we already knew of course. One more confirmation that we’re at the end of the End Times, this time coming from a book first published in 1942.

Turn away from Your Witchcraft and Your Spells!!

It’s important to be able to recognize the telltale signs of what’s magic and witchcraft, because often these things are subtle. I know there’s open, overt witchcraft in society too, and more of it every day. But for now, we have to recognize witchcraft and magic in their more subtle, covert forms.

To that end, I recommend you read both of the older posts I linked above—The Law of Narcissism and my book review of The Second Coming of the New Age.

To any non-Christians reading this, well, first of all Welcome! I’m glad you’re here, actually. But what I need to tell you is that you must be careful with what you believe in. You don’t think you’re interacting with the devil and using his power, but that’s the point. If that was obvious, very few people would actually use the Law of Attraction and things like it. The devil is a trickster, a deceiver. He doesn’t want you to know the truth of what you’re involved in until it’s too late, and your soul arrives in hell.

There are two powers in our world and its spiritual realm: God, and the devil and his demonic minions. What doesn’t work in the spiritual by God’s power is working in the spiritual by Satan’s power. Witchcraft and magic work in the spiritual realm by Satan’s power. Magic is an abomination unto the LORD (Deuteronomy 18), and the Law of Attraction is magic because it imposes your will on reality.

Now that being said, I must add that God doesn’t hate you for anything you’ve gotten involved in! He loves you! He just wants you to stop using such dangerous (spiritually dangerous) spiritual practices and turn to Him! But He doesn’t hate you for anything, and will forgive you of all your sins if you turn to Him in faith and repent.

For anyone who doesn’t do that, and put down all their magic, there will be eternal spiritual consequences. Revelation says that when He returns, Jesus will judge those who don’t turn away from their witchcraft and spells. Remember the Lewis quote above: The materialist magician is the demon’s perfect production. Their final masterpiece. There are spiritual reasons for this, which I described, so keep those in mind.

And don’t forget that when the demon’s masterpiece—the materialist magician—appears, the end of the war is in sight. Jesus Christ is coming back soon! We have reached the end of the End Times! What I and others keep saying, what this blog is mostly about.

Keep reading God’s Word, and keep reading pious books. Collect all these clues, and consider what they could mean. Stay vigilant, and stay ready. We won’t know the day or the hour, but we will know the season by the signs. Well, look at all the signs around us, people. ‘Tis the season. If you weren’t ready already, it’s time to change that. There’s no need to panic, of course, and no need to fear. But there is a need to act—turn to Jesus today in faith and REPENT!
