Thank You that The End is near!

Previous End Times Post

Hello Readers, hope all’s well. Normally I wouldn’t make an End Times post on a Monday, but today’s post will be a short one. Today’s post will be something much different from what I’ve written in this series so far. In fact, it’s much different from anything I’ve ever written on my blog.

Today’s post is a short prayer for the End Times. Just a little something I whipped up real quick. I’ll appreciate any feedback I get, and would be happy to hear what you’ve been praying lately down in the comments section below.

A Note about Prayer

How should we pray? When we pray, is there any specific formula we need to follow? Do we need to make sure to include specific things? Do we need to memorize and recite prayers the church has written?

Well, we should always pray straight from the heart. We should always be honest and straightforward (but still respectful) with God when we pray. We should tell Him in our own words what’s on our heart and mind. In other words, we should pray “unscripted.” This is the best, most genuine way to do it.

The church prayers are nice. But when we get down to it, prayer really only means talking to God. Since this is something we should be doing in private (Matthew 6:6), we should talk to God straight from the heart with no concerns about format.

(6) But when you pray, go to your room, shut the door, and pray to your Father who is present in that secret place. Your Father who sees what you do in secret will reward you.

Matthew 6:6 (CEB)

God doesn’t want to hear us recite memorized prayers. There’s nothing wrong with those prayers, but that’s not what He wants to hear from us. He wants to hear what we have to say. He wants to hear what we’re happy/angry/confused/sad/depressed about. He wants to hear what’s on our hearts and minds. So when you pray, just start speaking and say what you have to say to God.

The church prayers are nice, and there’s nothing wrong with memorizing them. But we’re not casting magic spells here! Magic is an abomination unto the LORD, or course. There’s no magic combination of the “right words” that we need to say in a specific order to please God. So pray from the heart.

A Prayer for the End

And now, onto the prayer. I invite you to add this to your prayer routine if you like. Or comment down below with your own prayers for the End Times.

LORD,

Thank You that The End is near!

You said that when we see these signs, we know that You are coming soon. I know in my heart You are coming soon!

Thank You that this fallen world will soon be destroyed!

Thank You that we will soon see God’s true vision for our world!

And please have mercy on me, a sinner. I put my faith in You, LORD Jesus, and I REPENT of all my sins, known and unknown.

This world is at the end of its rope, it can’t go on anymore. It’s dying, physically and spiritually.

But the end of this fallen world is the beginning of the LORD’s new world.

Thank You that Your final mercy is on its way.

Please grant me the spiritual fortitude I need to endure till the end, and to suffer what torments I must.

I know You are holding back so more people can come to You.

I pray that as many people turn to You, LORD, as possible while there’s still time.

Please grant me the right words and wisdom to win people over to You, if it’s Your will that I can.

Please grant me the restraint not to judge anyone, and the strength to forgive those who trespass against me.

Please grant me the grace to love my enemies and pray for those who persecute me.

With the time that’s left, please grant me the wisdom to see my sinful failings, and the strength to correct them.

I know I’m filthy with sins, but I seek to do the best I can.

And I have faith that Your sacrifice on the cross is more powerful than any sin.

Please save me, LORD Jesus, and deliver me from these End Times.

Please come back and end this world soon. Please come back!

Amen!

And that’s it. Just something I came up with in an hour or two. I’ll add it to my prayer routine, and fine-tune it as time goes on.

I think it’s a good idea to feature prayers on this blog from time to time. It’s a Christian blog, after all. Would you add this prayer to your prayer routine? Let me know what you think of it. But more importantly than that, when you pray, make sure you let God know what you’re thinking.

Amen!
